We had just arrived in Hanoi moments before coming upon this beautiful, exotic place. It mesmerized me. Walking along the shore of Hoan Kiem Lake, it felt like floating in a dream. The lights, the vibrant colour the shimmering reflections on the water, the balmy air on my skin. The sheer scale of this magnificent place. In painting it, I am there again, revisiting my first impressions of the scene. I chose a circular composition to heighten the feeling of looking, of observing. I hope that in viewing Hanoi #3, your are transported on your own journey.
