They call it Limestone City
Canada’s first Capital
So much history here, baked into those thick stone walls
Layers and layers of it
Since 1844
Getting to know this place
Feels like remembering
In 2021 I moved from Toronto to Kingston, Ontario and immediately became obsessed with the Kingston City Hall dome and all of the old limestone buildings in this historic place. All of the layers, marks and drips in this piece build up to create a rich history of their own. My hope is that the energy captured in these marks and moments is transferred to you through this work, and that you'll discover something new each time you look at it. This would make a great gift for a loved one, or for yourself!
